Frank's Journey

My story is a turnaround story.

Years ago, my life looked very different - the bridges were burned, and by every reasonable measure, things shouldn't have ended well. I started over from absolutely nothing, taking a laborer job and picking up a paintbrush for the first time. The noise in my head went quiet because I was finally building something.

If you know the parable of the Prodigal Son - the son who hits bottom, comes home expecting judgment, and finds mercy instead - that's where the name on my trucks comes from. It isn't a slogan; it's my testimony.

Why does this matter?

A guy who almost lost everything doesn't cut corners. I built Prodigal Son Painting from a ladder, some brushes, and a phone that barely held a charge, proving that I could build something honest.

Today, that commitment translates into how Prodigal Son Painting treats your home. Prodigal Son Painting uses top-tier Sherwin-Williams products, never skips the prep work, and won't pack up until you've fully inspected and loved the final result. The team proudly maintains a 4.9 Google rating by showing up on time and doing things right. Prodigal Son Painting isn't the cheapest company around, but your home is treated like our own - and that is what makes the Prodigal Son experience different.

Where the company is now

Prodigal Son Painting began with one painter, one van, and a commitment to do honest work for people who had been let down before. Since 2016 homeowners have placed their trust in the team, allowing the vision to reach new heights. Kevin Jasper now leads the Maryland region while founder Frank Morrison has moved to Florida to expand operations. The care and commitment stay the same in both markets.

I am absolutely thrilled with the work Frank and his team did on my kitchen cabinets! I wanted to transition to a crisp, clean white, and the results are stunning. I actually used this team previously to paint my entire house, and that job was also immaculate. Because of that great experience, I knew they were the only ones I'd trust with my cabinets. What impressed me most was how fast and efficient they were-they completed the cabinet project much quicker than I anticipated without cutting any corners. The finish is flawless and smooth, making the kitchen feel brand new and much brighter. They were professional, meticulous with their prep work, and ensured everything was perfectly clean before they left. If you are looking for a high-quality, reliable, and speedy painter for any project, I highly recommend them!

Frank and his team are top notch! Both Frank and Kevin were great at communicating and always answered within a few minutes. They work hard to make their pricing fair and work with you to stay within your budget. The day of the job, it was awesome to watch the process. It was clear that Frank knew what he was doing and found the best solution to produce a great outcome. Our kitchen doesn't even look the same!

Frank and Kevin were so helpful in coordinating my project. I was having new windows and doors installed and they were so accommodating in getting my house powerwashed before hand, going to get a paint sample from the GC to match my door in order to paint my shutters and they are a perfect match. Highly recommend. Will definitely use for any future painting projects.

General FAQs

Questions we answer every week

How does a Prodigal Son Painting estimate work?

A project lead walks the space with you, inspects the surfaces, listens to your goals, and then prices the work as a clear line-item scope. There is no pressure and no hidden add-on later.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Every crew member is trained in-house, never day-labor subcontractors, so each project is held to the same preparation and finish standard.

What paints and coatings do you use?

Premium coating systems selected for the surface and its daily use, including Sherwin-Williams for most interior and exterior work and Benjamin Moore Command acrylic urethane for cabinet finishes.

How do you protect a home while you work?

Floors, furniture, countertops, and fixtures are masked and covered before any prep begins, and the space is cleaned and reset before the final walkthrough.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Prodigal Son Painting is licensed, bonded, and insured, and carries MD MHIC 118200, PA License 152355, and DE License 2024702808 in the northern service footprint.
